Vibrant Urban Wedding

On a beautiful August day, the day began with Julie and Mick both getting ready at the The Sentinel (formerly known as the Governor Hotel). They had their first look in the Library Room with its amazing ceiling detail and warm wood walls.  Then we moved on to the ceremony and reception venue, Urban Studio. The ceremony was set up diagonally with a sweeping fabric drape along the ceiling from the entrance to the alter!  Beautiful chivari chairs in dark wood with white seat cushions were a perfect compliment to the white orchid and curly willow floral arrangements provided by Barclay Rentals and Vibrant Flowers.  Tall white pillar candles in vases lined the aisle while subtle warm uplights set off the alter.

Julie’s all white bouquet created by Vibrant Flowers was the perfect compliment to her elegant sheath style Nicole Miller gown. After the ceremony we took a walk around the block to get some portraits of the newlyweds.  Then the happy couple joined their guests for cocktail hour.  Meanwhile the ceremony room was being transformed into the reception with a dramatic color palette change.

The reception utilized both round and rectangular tables, allowing for a unique feel and utilizing the space to the fullest.  The eclectic centerpieces of both floral and candles were visually spectacular.  Magenta and purple uplighting and gobo designs on the walls added another level of interest to the space provided by Greenlight Creative. This reception design made a statement and became a vibrant urban wedding.

The space had the perfect accents like the stunning crystal chandelier hung above the cake table highlighting the four-tier creation from La Jaconde with white on white pattern details.  As well as, Crave Design created the exquisite table seating chart, table numbers and invites.

Julie and Mick came to Muse looking for a very different kind of wedding – an event that was both jaw-droopingly unexpected for their guests while being understated so that their guests all felt welcome.  They wanted elegance paired with their incredible sense of fun!  In order to achieve this, we completely transformed the space at Urban Studio from the ceremony to the reception – taking it from a soft, romantic ceremony that featured an angular, non-traditional setup with whites, champagnes and blush pinks – to a bold, eclectic reception space with punched up colors of hot pink, orange, purple for an energetic and fun celebration.”- Christina Safford, Event Designer & Coordinator
