Timeless, Black Tie Wedding

Lindsay’s dad contacted us about 2 months before their big day.  He wanted us to not only do both their wedding film and photography, but also to produce a unique Love Story Film for his daughter’s wedding. The idea was to have all of Lindsay’s and Chris’ family interviewed to tell their story and share their well wishes and love for the couple in a heartfelt film to be shared at the wedding followed up by one of our Signature Same Day Edits.  Of course we were up for the challenge and pulled together 4 different shoots involving 9 people in under a months time!  It was a wonderful experience getting to work with their families so closely while producing the film.  The love they share for Lindsay and Chris is overwhelming and we feel so honored to get to work with such amazing people, and tell their story!

Lindsay and Chris’ wedding day was a delightful celebration.  They had a beautiful March wedding in downtown Portland coordinated by their friend Patricia Danileson.  The day started at the Nines hotel where both the guys and girls started getting ready.  Lindsay and the maids enjoyed hair and makeup perfection courtesy of Kim King.   The ladies then took a limo over to the Portland Art Museum where they got into their dresses.  We had fun in the limo with the ladies in their matching robes! Lindsay’s OSU garter was a great match with the fun orange couch at the PAM dressing room!  Meanwhile the guys were enjoying some drinks back at the hotel while getting dressed.

Lindsay and Chris shared their first look in the sculpture courtyard and the look on Chris’ face says it all!  She looked stunning in her Maggie Soterro strapless ball gown from Bridal Exclusives.   The weather was stellar with blue skies and soft clouds for dramatic effect in photos!  No rain in March in Portland – so lucky and allowed us to get a great variety of photos all around the city near the art museum.

After the portrait session we headed across the park to the First Congregational Church for their touching ceremony officiated by Sara Rosenau.  After the “I Do’s” the newlyweds hopped into a horse drawn carriage for a relaxing ride around town.  We met up with them at the Schnitzer for “Portland Sign” photos and then it was off to the reception in the Kridel Grand Ballroom.  The regal ballroom was adorned in beautiful tones of ivory and gold.  A dramatic floral centerpiece floated in the center of the unique rectangular head table. Lamb’s Thriftway designed the elegant white on white cake.  Dark wood Chivari chairs finished the look for the 450 guests! Lindsay and Chris really did have a timeless, black tie wedding.

After a gourmet Vibrant Table dinner Lindsay’s father gave a brief introduction to the films, which debuted on the big screen bringing tears of joy and laughter!  Showing their Love Story followed by their Same Day Edit to a packed crowd of 450 guests was exhilarating.  Lindsay and Chris shared their first dance followed by the parent dances.  They Hit Machine kicked up the tunes packing the dance floor!
