Guest Blog: How to Plan a Stress Free Wedding

When thinking about your wedding day…think like a Boy Scout! Be prepared for anything.  The more pre-planning you do the easier and happier that day will be.  Follow these simple steps and your day will run a great deal more smoothly and be stress free.

1)      Hire a day-of wedding coordinator so you don’t have to think about any of these things.  Or continue down the list two through six.

2)      Complete a timeline for the day of starting from the minute you meet with your first appointment, e.g. hairstylist or make up artist and ending with your last guest leaving your reception venue.

3)      Make sure this timeline is distributed to all the key people in your wedding, e.g., your fiance, maid of honor, best man, bridesmaids, groom’s men, parents, relatives.  Anyone who needs to know what is happening next.  The more informed they are the more helpful they can be, and the less questions they will be asking you on your already busy day!

4)      Double check with each of your vendors the week prior to your wedding day to make sure they know when you expect them to arrive on site and get a day-of contact and cell phone number to add to your timeline.

5)      Have a Day-Of Emergency Kit on hand!  Every emergency kit has band-aids, but this kit also has white chalk, better than a Tide Stick for covering up stains on a wedding dress! For a complete emergency kit check list CLICK HERE.

6)      Think through the small stuff.  Where will guests put cards?  A basket or little suite case with a handle makes a fun cardholder.  Who will be taking cards, gifts and centerpieces, etc. to a secure location  at the end of the night?

Every bride deserves a stress free wedding and with a little planning your big day will be free of big headaches so you can relax and enjoy!
