Why do a First Look

Of course you want to capture every special moment of your wedding day, after all your wedding  photos will become one of your most cherished positions.  But don’t  spend so much time taking photos that you find yourself saying “Wait a minute, the reception is over already?”

Many couples want to embrace the tradition of waiting to see each other for the first time on the wedding day just before the ceremony begins. This means that all photos with the couple, including all those with the wedding party and families must wait until after the ceremony, which can spill over into a lot of the reception time. Photographers have begun a new tradition called the First Look, where they create a private moment for the couple prior to the ceremony where they capture the couple as they have their first look at each other.  It is just as special and can be even more meaningful as it is just the two of you!

Having a First Look photo enables the photographer to complete 90% of the formal wedding photos before the ceremony so the couple can enjoy their guest and reception instead of posing for photos!

After all, during the reception is when you will be embracing friends, eating dinner, cutting cake, throwing bouquets, dancing…with so many fun things to do, who wants to 45 minutes to an hour for formal photos?

Following this advise can ensure you have wonderful photos for years to come without missing out on all the fun and excitement of your wedding day!
